Intermediate & Advanced Skagit Casting Class
My casting class at Spey Nation in New York will focus on advanced Skagit casting concepts that will install sound fundamentals, improve distance and give you new tools to become a more versatile angler. Casts covered during the clinic will include all sustained anchor casts. If time allows we’ll also go into airborne anchor casts using Rage heads. If you want to super charge your Spey casting, you’ll appreciate this class!
I’m headed to the Salmon River in New York this summer for Spey Nation. Spey Nation celebrates the emerging two-handed rod culture in the Great Lakes Fishery offering the unique opportunity for enthusiasts and manufacturers to gather in a streamside setting. I’ll be given a demonstration at the clave on Saturday July 20 and teaching an Advanced Spey Casting class on Sunday July 21.
I'm headed back to Cleveland, Ohio on February 23 to give a Spey casting and fly tying clinic. The class is being hosted by Chagrin River Outfitters and Steelhead Alley Outfitters. I'm looking forward to fishing "Steelhead Alley", from everything I've heard the rivers and their steelhead are amazing. Come join us for a day of Spey casting and fly tying if you're in the area.
I recently spent a few days tromping around my old stomping grounds on Alaska’s Kenai Peninsula. It was an add-on trip to my hosted fly fishing trip to Alaska West.

The Airflo Skagit Intermediate is a new concept in Spey casting that will change the game of swinging flies for anadromous fish. By building a Skagit head with a short floating rear section coupled with an intermediate body, we took the ease of casting a Skagit head and combined it with the effectiveness of an intermediate Scandi.
