The warm winds of spring bring new life to the desert and the Deschutes River. The river canyon is sporting new green grass and the wild flowers are in bloom. Ospreys once again occupy the tall, dead trees along the banks. The mayflies are starting to dance. Slowly but surely, the trout are recovering from spawning and moving into feeding lies.
For those of us that love the Deschutes and her incredible redsides, spring is a magical time.
