After 18 years as a professional fly fishing guide, I have the opportunity to hang up the guide hat and pursue a new dream. I was recently hired as the Nation Sales Manager for G.Loomis Fly Fishing. While my new position is a huge departure from running jet boats up rock infested rapids, sleeping in a tent for months at a time and chasing anadromous fish with two-handed rods, I am excited to aim my fierce passion for the sport at new career goals.
I will continue to own Larimer Outfitters and plan to offer private and group Spey casting lessons as well as hosted destination travel. However, my long time friend Todd Harris is becoming a partner in the company and will be running our Deschutes River Steelhead Camps, trout trips and hosted travel.
Todd and I met 17 years ago while guiding in Alaska and we've been great friends ever since. We also spent a number of seasons guiding the Deschutes together before I started Larimer Outfitters. Todd also owns Harris Anglers and is an authority on Oregon North Coast steelhead. Todd is a humble, hard working and friendly guy. Most importantly, he’s incredibly fishy! (He almost always out fishes me) -In addition, he is an extraordinarily talented Spey caster and instructor. Of the few people I would trust carrying on the Larimer Outfitters' torch, Todd Harris is at the top of the list.
On a very personal note, I would like to thank everyone that has supported me over the years. Your business and friendship has meant the world to me. I can’t lie; this life transition is a little bittersweet. While I look forward to being a part of G.Loomis and the opportunity to help propel the brand forward, I can’t help to feel incredibly nostalgic about the millions of memories a life of guiding has left me with. I’ve considered it an honor and privilege to make a living chasing my passion. None of it would have been possible without your support. –For that, I am eternally grateful.
Thank you for making my dreams come true,
