It’s the last day of my hosted trip to Andros South Lodge in the Bahamas… Time to break down the rods, back our bags and head for home. As I write this, I’m sitting on the beach reflecting on the whole experience. The week has been filled with epic moments and of course, bittersweet opportunities missed.
The other day I asked one of my clients on the trip how his day went. With a big smile he replied, “best day ever”. When I asked the same question the following day he replied with the exact same answer. It was about then I realized his response was more of a mantra than an answer. A mantra that spread through the guests and became the standard answer to how the fishing was during our week.
Yes we had some great fishing… But it wasn’t without some challenging conditions. Fortunately, the epic moments far outweighed the bittersweet opportunities missed and everyone had a great time. One might even say -it was the best week ever.
