Larimer Outfitters Boats
We utilize 20' Alumaweld and Willie jet boats for summer steelhead and trout
on the lower Deschutes River, and winter steelhead on the Clackamas River.
While sleds don't offer the tranquility of floating a river, we look at it like another
tool to catch fish. If a section of river isn't fishing well, or is crowded, we can
simply move. More so, we can cover twice the amount of water in a day with the
sled. In the game of fly fishing, the most successful anglers put their fly over the
most fish. Plus, we can keep you fishing in better water, with better light
conditions than while floating. Ironically, using a jet sled is way less stressful
fishing than in a drift boat. There's no boat races to get to the best water, the
boat ramp is actually civil! We're proud to say, we are the only fly fishing guide
service offering day and camp trips for steelhead and trout in the lower
Deschutes canyon.

For the Sandy, Klickitat, & the Maupin area of the Deschutes, we use a 14'
Outcast raft. The boat has a full fishing frame and self bailing floor. We went to a
raft over a drift boat for two reasons. First, the wild and scenic stretch of the
Sandy demands an inflatable. A raft is much safer for negotiating the river's
rapids and rock gardens. Second, the Klickitat can get extremely low during the
fall. Rubber slides over rocks, Aluminium or fiberglass bangs over them. It's a
great little boat.
